Senior Murals

By Lindsey Mauller on May 18, 2023

Every year Mrs. Thobois lets a couple of her seniors paint murals around the school. This year a few of the seniors that painted murals were Aubrey Compton and Leah Jackson. The mural that Mrs. Thobois had Leah and Aubrey paint was called The Boat Ride. When I asked Aubrey her opinions on the mural, she said it was a great experience, and it was super cool she gets to leave a mark on the school permanently. When Leah was asked the same question, she said it was a great opportunity to be able to paint something permanent on the school that generations will be able to see. All in all, the mural took them roughly a month. The mural can be found going down the ramp that leads to the art room by the ISS room; it is the third one.

Both Leah and Aubrey are seniors, so I decided to ask them a few questions about their last year. When Aubrey was asked how it feels to be a senior her response was, “very sad because of the memories and people I’ve met.” I also asked Leah the same question and her responses was “very exciting to finally leave, but it's also very sad leaving all the amazing people I’ve met.” I also asked what one thing they would redo. Aubrey said “not taking every opportunity I could have." Leah's response was, “I would go back and get more involved with the things the school does."
